This is in response to all the forwards on emails ridiculing the Indian Cricket Team on their loss in the World Cup.
I think it is unfair on our part to ridicule the cricket team. How can you make them gods one day and paupers another. They are they same guys. They lost a game , the better team won.Why cant we take that result in a mature manner. And these guys have put in a lifetime of effort to be where they are . The least you can do is to appreciate this effort of a lifetime. Have all of us put together even given a fraction of what any one of them have given in their lives for cricket. Really speaking if you think you are so great to belittle their achievements then why dont you try a hand at what they are doing? Its not the same thing as being a CA or MBA. There is no set course to study and ten year papers to go through. There may be a lakh CA and Ten lakh MBA but only 11 cricketers out of a billion population. Please respect their achievement. Its not comparable with anything.
How would it feel when we failed in a exam and our parents and friends shunned us and stopped talking to us.How would you feel if they tell you that you are useless and a 'good for nothing'. Instead, at that time dont we expect them to support us and love us then. Its same with the team, maybe they need the maximum support now.
Sorry, i know i am in a minority.And maybe i dont follow cricket so much thats why i am not emotional about it. But being in active sports have a respect for achievement in sports. And i think they are nice guys. I respect them.
